Mernda Presbyterian Church

Mernda Presbyterian Church.

Welcome to Mernda Presbyterian Church. As a church, we have a passion for God and a passion for people. This means that we are dedicated to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who do not know the good news of the eternal happiness. In doing so, we remain firmly committed to the Reformed faith as the most consistent presentation and outworking of Biblical Christianity. We hold strongly to the Bible as its rule of faith and life. The Word of God is preaching every Sunday at 9:15.

Mernda Presbyterian Church also have two other services, one in Arabic at 1:00 pm at the church and the other in Urdu via Skype to Pakistan at 5:00 pm.

The opening service for worship of Mayfield (Mernda) Presbyterian Church on 3 March 1861, as reported in the Melbourne Argus 11 March 1861, and of Whittlesea Church in 1863, reflect the 1850s arrival in Plenty Valley of Scottish immigrants. A comprehensive history of Mernda Church is written by Dr. Richard Ely, is available from the church itself as part of the historical precinct, and it will be placed in this website in 2016.

Visitors and new members most welcome!
